House museum / Tudor Place in Georgetown
It took me seven – seven! – years of living in DC to finally make it to Tudor Place, a lovingly preserved example of Federal-period architecture that is now a house museum in central Georgetown. The guided interiors tour took less than an hour, and the conversation balanced notes on easy to miss design details with stories of the families, both the owners and the enslaved, who occupied the estate and kept it operating through generations.
