Austin / June’s All Day
The first stop on my Austin culinary tour was June’s All Day, a cheery, diner-inspired institution on South Congress Ave. We went in for brunch and sat on the patio – something I had been dreaming of since boarding the plane in London! After a round of bloody marys for the table, we landed on ordering the buttermilk pancakes with apple compote and spiced brown butter, the appetizing board with pastrami smoked salmon and other nibbles, an order of the fried baby eggplants (a fave with the group!), and a side of fries. We sampled a french cruller as well – and I wish I had ordered one for the road!
